Angel Tree is an organization in which people donate gifts for less fortunate children during the holiday season. Parents and grandparents who cant afford to buy as much are very grateful for the ones who are generous enough to donate and help other families. As seen in the article "there are images of bikes and bags of toys waiting to be delivered to the kids." The ones who will be opening these gifts on Christmas morning will be very thankful for them who have given these presents to them. Others out these in the world may not have anything to look forward to on Christmas so for the angel tree kids, smiles will be on every face. Read in  the article "Citizens Bank associates Angela Wilcoxon, Candace Clark and Fred Krug wheel into Independence County Fairgrounds some of the 35 bicycles that were among Angel Tree donations from bank employees." After receiving these bicycles the children will be very excited to have gotten them. In my opinion Angel Tree is an amazing foundation that helps out the less fortunate families. Another photo shows "Woman holding bags of goodies for the children." Its a great thing to give to the less fortunate families. Christmas is the best time to not except things but to definitely give them. In my opinion this time a year is when you need to be there for others just like Jesus was there for us when he gave up his life so we could all live ours. Lastly, "FUTUREFUEL EMPLOYEES Marty Rollins and Eric Huskey load Angel Tree gifts into a truck for delivery. Futurefuel employees and contractors provided Christmas presents for 82 children this year." Helping this many families is amazing. Waking up to these gifts is a great feeling for the ones who thought they wouldn't have much. Now because of the the Angel Tree organization these awesome presents will be very enjoyed on Christmas morning. The ones out there that have helped support the Angels are amazing and the families receiving from those who have donated are very thankful. Its great to have something like Angel Tree to look forward to if you cant afford much because they will always be there to help out as much as they can around the holiday season.

 

Looters In Our Country!

Are you a looter or do you even know what that word means? Looters are people who go out and steal things after tragic accidents happen in their community. As read in the passage "people were running out of Rite Aid with bags of diapers and wipes". In my opinion, I feel that if you have run out of options and every store is shut down there is no way to get the supplies you need then you have to do what you have to do. When you have no option but to go out and steal things then looting is what you would do. Making sure your children are taken care of is whats most important in situations like this. Also read "People were running in and out of Rent-A-Center caring these big flat screens". I could understand people getting very angry about stealing electronics. There is no need for anyone to worry about watching television when your city has just been hit by a hurricane. In conclusion looting and stealing are both crimes and neither should be committed.

Freeing up Space

      Non-violent offenders in Independence County are being released and put on probation to free up space in the local jails. Many people have different opinions on whether this is a good or bad idea. For me I agree and disagree with this decision.   

      The inmates being released eventually could back fire. After been put on probation the will be free. Typical violations of probation are "Leaving the county without notifying parole officer, going to a bar, failing to report or failing a drug test." Also if either of these violations occur "violators are immediately picked up and serve a day or two in a local jail instead of their probation revoked." For each person being put on probation they will have to pay a fee of supervision from an officer.This fee has increased ten dollars meaning each person will pay either twenty five or thirty dollars each month just to be on probation. For the offenders to pay this they each obviously would have to be receiving an income, which means they would have to be employed. Having a job could potentially lead to better things in life for each of these people. I think if anyone being released do commit an actual crime then they should be out back in jail for good. Giving them a second chance to try and do more positive things should teach them not to violate their probation rules.

     Freeing up space is also a brilliant idea because it makes more room for real criminals.By bringing in the violent people who really do need to be in jail such as rappest and murderers lets me know im protected from major law breakers. If we capture the ones who commit worse crimes our community could defiantly become a much more better place for people to live. So by serving these criminals jail time and releasing the non-violent offenders it should decrease the crime rate in Independence County.

     In conclusion you may agree or disagree with points I have made but, I honestly think this is a great new law.

NDC-Barack Obama

Obama or Mitt Romney? If it was me who got to decide my choice would definitely be president Obama for another four years. After watching the National Democratic Convention my mind was once again set on Obama.

The National Democratic Convention is what could help our fellow citizens choose the next president of  the United States of America. Heard on television "Obama was the one who saved more than one million jobs." Without the help of our vice president Biden and the president Obama, America would still be in a tragic crisis. If it wasn't for the president we have now I honestly don't know what the people of America would have done about the jobs they relied on to keep their families going. Also "Obama says, By him helping America he has promised to cut oil prices in half by 2020, 100,000 thousand new jobs would be founded and his plan will also continue to reduce the carbon pollution that is heating our planet." With Obama becoming president another four years i feel that my future and millions of others will be brighter than others. And in my opinion I feel that Obama is the better path for America to take.
Watch The Democratic Convention and you will soon realize who's best for president. Obama has promised some huge obstacles for us to accomplish, let's see if he can keep those promises or if they shall eventually be broken.













The 9/11 Rebuild

Rebuilding the World Trade Center took years to finish, hundreds of workers help and billions of dollars to accomplish. As said in the text "2.6 millions square feet of floor space" is being taken up by one new WTC building. Also "3.1 billion dollars"was spent on the recreation. After 9/11 the rebuild started to take place. Years have gone by and in 2013 there will be an amazing new site to explore in NYC.
